Good morning!

Government advice regarding key workers has now been released.

To clarify the reason why schools are closing today, these words are taken directly from the Government advice:

If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading. That is why the government has asked parents to keep children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.

The fewer children making the journey to school, and the fewer children in educational settings, the lower the risk that the virus can spread.’

1. If it is at all possible that a child can be at home, then they should be.

2. Parents should be doing everything they can to ensure children are not mixing socially in a way which can continue to spread the virus. They should observe the same social distancing principles as adults.

PLEASE understand that this move is to KEEP YOUR FAMILY AND YOUR CHILDREN SAFE. It is NOT because school staff here or anywhere else don’t want to do the job which they love. School staff have been designated as ‘Key Workers’ – they will continue to work as long as they are well to respond to this national emergency.

The list of key workers now includes

*those in food production, processing, distribution, sale and delivery

*those in critical/essential services – oil/gas/electricity/postal services/ telecommunications/waste disposal

*those in transport services – road/rail – passenger and freight/air

If you think that you fall into a ‘key worker’ category, please fill in the form below and submit it to us today, by 12.30.

Use the box in Q5 to add your role if it not there as a tick box. We will then make appropriate arrangements for those who are eligible and be in touch as soon as possible.

You may need to copy and paste the link into your browser if it does not work directly.

There will be initial arrangements for NEXT WEEK. These may well change as we move forward.

We will do everything we can to keep you informed as quickly as possible.

To parents who are NOT key workers...we are still thinking about you and your children, and will continue to keep in touch while they are not in school!

There will be further information to come about Free School Meals - we just have not yet received it!

Thank you again for your cooperation and understanding.

At least the sun is going to shine this weekend!
