Welcome to the first online update!
We continue to receive and follow advice from Public Health England, the Department for Education and the Local Authority. We will be guided by this advice.
CURRENT ADVICE for children
If your child has a new, persistent cough and/or a temperature of over 37.8', they MUST stay at home and be isolated within the home environment. This means that they cannot go to the shops/park/school playground etc. In this case, please contact the school on Days 1,3 and 7.
This absence will be authorised.
At this moment, if other children are well, they can come to school.
ISOLATION of a child is only necessary if they are actually SHOWING SYMPTOMS.
If a child comes to school and develops either a cough or temperature, we will contact you to collect your child.
If as parents/carers you are self-isolating WITH SYMPTOMS your child should, at present, still attend school. Special arrangements can be made for you to avoid contact with other parents/ children by calling the school office. These would be: bringing your child to school at 9.05 and collecting your child at 3.00.
WHAT ARE WE DOING IN SCHOOL?
We continue to follow all the advice for handwashing, coughing and sneezing as detailed in last week's letters.
Additional cleaning of table tops, door handles and rails is taking place.
As a precaution we are POSTPONING Year 5's Speak Up Assembly on Wednesday, Reception's craft session on Friday and Nursery's craft session next week.
At the moment, school visits, eg swimming, will continue, in line with DfE advice.
WILL WE CLOSE THE SCHOOL?
At the moment, advice is that SCHOOLS REMAIN OPEN. If this advice changes, we will aim to give you as much notice as possible. However, if directed to close we may have very little notice.
We are currently arranging for work to be posted on this website IF the school closes. We are checking that children have log-ins to available online programmes.
Communication will now be via TEXT messages and THIS WEBSITE rather than through letters - that way we can reach those families whose children are not in school.
PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT CONTACT NUMBERS ARE UP-TO-DATE.
Thank you all for your ongoing cooperation and support at this time. I hope that you all remain well!
