Hello, Year 3!
I hope that you have all had a lovely half term break, playing outside in the sunshine!
Here are your activities for today.
Please note that the English, maths and science challenges can be accessed on Purple Mash as well as on the school website. Please upload completed work onto Purple Mash, so that I can mark what you have done.
Session 1: Handwriting
Start the day by practising your handwriting! Can you join the letter e to the letter g?
Session 2: English
Today, we are going to start reading a brand-new, beautiful book: The Rainforest Grew All Around by Susan K. Mitchell. This book is a wonderful introduction to life in the Amazon Rainforest. Listen carefully, as I read the first few pages of the story aloud. Then, see if you can retell the first part of the story in your own words.
Session 3: Maths
Spend 10 minutes on Times Tables’ Rock Stars. Practise your times tables’ knowledge against the clock!
Then, have a go at today’s maths challenge, which will help you to develop your skills in lots of different areas of maths.
Session 4: Science
In our science lessons this half term, we are going to be learning about light, darkness and shadows. See if you can find the answers to some tricky questions to kickstart this topic!
Session 5: Story Time
Listen to, and enjoy, chapters 8 and 9 of Slime by David Walliams.
