Good morning Year One!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend and spent time with your family doing things you enjoy. It’s the final week before half term, you are all working so hard and I have had some fantastic work handed in on Purple Mash – keep it up! Activities for the day! – Phonics Recap sounds using the sounds mats in the Phonics folder on the class handouts page. Can you find the aw and ew sound? Can you do the action? Can you write a list of words using these sounds? On Purple Mash, I have set a 2do to complete using these two sounds. English This week, we are going to have a go at writing some instructions! Instructions are sequenced steps on how to do something. Today your task is to make something at home. This could either be something to eat – a sandwich, a cake or even some jelly! Or this could be something you make – a bird feeder, a paper aeroplane or a friendship bracelet. The choice is up to you! Have fun with it! Whilst you are busy making your chosen thing, think carefully about the different steps you are taking to complete it. If you can, take a picture of each step – this will help you tomorrow! Maths Spend some time on Numbots. Practise your number formation and practise counting in jumps of 2s, 5s and 10s. Remember you can go back and use some of the resources from last week if you need to. Art On Friday, your afternoon task was to go on a minibeast hunt! Did you manage to find some bugs? Your task this afternoon is to design your own insect! I have set a 2do on Purple Mash for you to complete – be as creative as you’d like! Have a great day!
