Good morning, Year Five. :)
I hope you’ve had a good weekend and have had chance to enjoy the sunshine. I have been very busy in the garden and it was even warm enough for my son to use his paddling pool! I hear that it will drop a little cooler this week though. So a new week of learning! I am missing you all and can’t wait to see you again, along with Mrs. Morgan- Smith and Mrs. Turner! Thanks to those of you who have been using our Purple Mash blog- you know who you are! It’s great to chat to you all and see what you are up to. Remember you can access this blog by going on Purple Mash and clicking ‘Sharing’ at the top (a picture of a green globe!) and then clicking ‘Shared Blogs’.
We will continue with our writing project. Today I would like you to look at page 14 and part of page 15. It’s a grammar activity all about relative clauses. I’ve also uploaded some relative clause work in our shared folder for you to take a look at to help you revise this skill. Go through the PowerPoint and refresh your memory!
I’ve set you a 2Do on Purple Mash. It’s a really fun game called ‘Dividers’. Use this to warm up. There’s also another arithmetic test for you. I’ve been setting a lot of these for you but it’s so important that you keep working on these, developing your fluency. This number work is so important! I’ve also uploaded some lists of calculations for you that are specific to each skill, for example there’s a list of 60 questions on adding and subtracting decimals, or there’s a list of questions on squaring and cubing numbers. Take a look at these and work through them if you wish over the time we are away from school. There's also a list of questions about multiplying fractions, a skill that we have not yet covered in school but if some of you are craving something different then you could go online and look into strategies for this.
On Purple Mash I’ve set you some 2Dos and they are all about the Ancient Greeks. Let’s see what you can remember!
Take care :)
