Good morning, Year Two! I hope that you are all well. Did you have a good half-term? We have had lots of sunshine! The strawberries in my garden have started to grow, but they are not yet ready to eat.
Activities for today!
English – complete the common exception words activity.
- this week, our English work is all about the story ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears’. Read the story and answer the questions.
- how do you think the three bears feel and why? How do you think Goldilocks feels and why? Think about the other stories that you have read. Are any of them similar to this story?
Maths – there are three bears in the story. Can you draw some of their things? For example: 3 bowls, 3 spoons, 3 chairs and 3 beds. Underneath, write the total amount (3, 6, 9…).
- click on this link for the game ‘Paint the Squares’: https://www.topmarks.co.uk/learning-to-count/paint-the-squares. Select 1-100. Count from 0 in 3s and colour in the squares (3, 6, 9…). Do you notice a pattern? Can you describe it?
- spend some time on TT Rock Stars, and practise your times table club sheet.
Geography/Science – ask an adult to help you research different bears around the world. Where do they live? What are their habitats like? You could draw a picture of each bear, and write a few facts underneath.
Have a super day, and remember to get as much fresh air and exercise as possible!
