Good morning, Year Two! I hope that you are all well.

Did you enjoy reading ‘The Enormous Turnip’ yesterday? The characters in the story are kind and helpful because they help the little old man pull up the enormous turnip. The little old man thanks them all by inviting them for a turnip dinner. Think about the other stories that you have read. Are there any kind and helpful characters in these stories?

Activities for today!

English – a synonym is a word that means the same as another word, e.g. happy/joyful. Can you think of any synonyms for big and small?

- I have uploaded a worksheet for you. Some of the words from the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ are missing. Can you fill in the missing words?

- there is another activity, where you can put events from the story in order. Draw pictures and write a sentence to explain what happens in each part of the story.

Maths – this week we are looking at measure. Your task today is to draw the characters from the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ and cut them out. Can you measure them? Can you put them in order of size?

- spend some time on TT Rock Stars, and practise your times table club sheet.

Geography – the story ‘The Enormous Turnip’ is set on a farm, and our topic this term is Farm to Fork. This afternoon, your challenge is to design a farm. You can use the worksheet that I have uploaded if you like. You can use the key on the worksheet, or you can create your own key.

Have a wonderful day!
