Good morning, Year Five :)

I hope you managed to access yesterday’s work and have been using your time productively. It’s going to be another sunny day today so remember to go outside and enjoy it when you can.

I hope you enjoyed the story extract yesterday and managed to use some of the words in new sentences. Remember you can Google the new word followed by the word ‘pronunciation’ just like I have showed you how to do in class. This will model for you how to pronounce new words.

Please complete the next part of the booklet:

Now you have read the whole story, what did you like & dislike? What puzzled you (what questions do you have – why, what, how …) and what surprised you?

I would ABSOLUTELY LOVE it if you guys could have this discussion on our Year Five blog on Purple Mash. When you have answered these questions you could also draw a picture from the story showing a scene of your choice.

I’ve put another arithmetic test up for you to practise again. Let’s keep those skills sharp! Are your results improving? Drop me a message on PurpleMash to let me know how you are getting on. Remember if there are any particular areas that you are struggling with you can revise that in addition to completing and marking the test. Is there anything that is consistently wrong on your test? Again drop me a message and I can set some work for you.

Did you know that today is the Queen’s birthday? I’ve uploaded various activities on this for you to try. Pick whichever ones you fancy!

Take care.
