Good morning Year One!
I hope that you enjoyed completing yesterday’s activities. I was very impressed by your farm paintings and I could see that lots of you worked very hard on them.
Activities for the day! – Phonics – Can you find the ‘o-e’ sound on your sound chart? What is the action? Can you write a list of words using the ‘o-e’ sound? (E.g. home) Visit the phonics play website – remember there is a free login using username: march20 and password: home. Play the dragons den game. Make sure you choose phase 5 and the ‘o-e’ sound before starting the game. https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/5/dragons-den
English – Question Marks (BBC Bitesize) https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/z7hc47h In today’s lesson you will be learning about how to use questions marks. We looked at this during the Spring term in school so have a go and see what you can remember. Remember a question mark replaces the full stop at the end of a question.
Maths – Counting on and back in 2’s (BBC Bitesize) https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/articles/zkjv382 In Maths today, you are going to be counting in 2’s! Make sure you watch the videos very carefully. You could also use toys or objects at home to help you. Do you notice any patterns? Everything you need will be on BBC Bitesize, but I have also uploaded the activities to the class handouts page too. Topic – Types of Farms (Purple Mash) Can you research and discuss the different types of farms you might be able to find in the UK? I have set a 2do on Purple Mash so that you are able to share with me what you find out. There is space for you to draw a picture and explain each type of farm.
Don't forget, make sure to also spend some time in the fresh air and get some exercise.
Have a lovely day!
