Good morning Year One!
I hope you are all well. Well done to those that completed yesterday’s activities. I really enjoyed reading all your postcards. It sounds like you are all keeping yourself very busy at home. Did you see the fitness video? It was lovely to see some familiar faces! Did you spot me walking my dogs?
Activities for the day! – Phonics – Tricky Words Today I would like you to continue working on Tricky Words. Remember these are words that we can’t sounds out but appear lots in our reading books. All the resources you need are on the class handouts page, in the Phonics folder. Have a go at: - Practising sounds (using sound mats)
- Practise reading tricky words (using tricky words flashcards)
- Complete a page from the tricky words booklets English – Talk for Writing On the class handouts page, I have uploaded a talk for writing booklet into the English folder. In here are lots of activities around a story. Today, have a go at reading the story ‘Sidney Spider’ on your own first, and then read it again with an adult. Don’t forget if you get stuck to use your phonics. Once you have read through the story, I would like you to have a go at answering the questions on page 5 and 6 – What did you like? What do you want to know? Did anything surprise you in the story? Maths – Snake Game Practise counting in 2s and complete the Snake game on Purple Mash. I have set this as a 2do.
Geography – Points on a Compass Can you remember all the points you would find on a compass? I have set you a 2do to complete on Purple Mash.
Don’t forget to also get some exercise! Have a go at a Joe Wicks workout, a Go-Noodle dance or maybe some yoga.
Have a lovely day!
