Good morning Year One!
Well done to all those that have been working hard to complete all the 2dos set on Purple Mash. I am very impressed with the work you are doing and it is lovely to see lots of you are enjoying learning from home.
Activities for the day! – Phonics – Can you find the ‘ay’ sound on your sound chart? What is the action? Can you write a list of words using the ‘ay’ sound? Last week, I asked you to look at the ‘ai’ sound. What do you notice? They both make the same sound but are spelt differently. In the class handouts folder, I have uploaded an activity for you to complete looking at all the alternative spellings for this sound.
English – Zara and the Lost Cat Read chapter 2 and 3 of the story and complete the activities set on Purple Mash. Maths – Login to Numbots and complete challenges Can you find 1 less than a given number to 20? I have set a 2do on Purple Mash for you to complete.
Science – Adult and Baby Animals In science this term our topic has been Animals, including humans. We have learnt about different animals and how to group them. Can you now explore adult and baby animals? Your task is to match the animal to its young and describe how they change and grow up over time. For example, a frog begins as frogspawn, then grows into a tadpole, next changes into a froglet and then becomes a frog. Can you see how many different animals you can describe?
Have a fantastic day!
