Good morning, Year Five. I hope you are all keeping well. I hope you enjoyed yesterday’s activities and are ready for some more learning. What did you think of the apps? There hasn’t been very much talk on our blog this week. I’m missing hearing from you all! Remember you can access our blog on Purple Mash if you click ‘Sharing’ at the top and then ‘Year Five Blog’. Anyway, today’s work…
You were given lots of different reading comprehensions with questions yesterday. Pick another one (or more!) to work through. Remember to also read a book of your choice for at least 30 minutes too. Then there’s Spelling Frame!
I’ve set you some 2Dos on Purple Mash. One is on area and the other on perimeter. Remember the difference between area and perimeter? Area is the space inside a shape and perimeter is the total distance around the outside. I’m sure you are familiar with your living rooms now- area is covered by your carpet and perimeter is the skirting boards! Have a go at the Purple Mash task first and then I’ve uploaded a PowerPoint all about area. Have a look through it to remind yourself of what we covered in school and then there are worksheets for you. If you can’t print you could always write the list of answers on paper.
There’s also an arithmetic half test for you to complete as always, and don’t forget your TT RockStars!
I’ve uploaded a photopack for you to take a look at. It’s pictures of different plants. Take a look! You might want to go into the garden and find a plant you can sketch. This is called observational drawing. I would love to see your work on our blog!
