Good morning Year One!
I hope that you are all well and enjoyed completing yesterday’s activities. I am very impressed with how hard some of you are working. For those that completed the creative challenge yesterday - Well done! It looks like you had lots of fun and it was lovely to see you getting your families involved in the challenge too.
Activities for the day!
Phonics – Can you find the ‘ew’ sound on your sound chart? What is the action? Can you write a list of words using the ‘ew’ sound? Take the reading robot test on Phonics Play! You will need someone to sit with you to do this. If you read the word correct, you can press the green tick https://new.phonicsplay.co.uk/resources/phase/5/reading-robot

On Purple mash – I have set you a 2Do. Using your imagination, can you describe what you would paint if you had a magic paintbrush and explain why.
Maths – Last week, we were focusing on subtraction. We talked about how this also meant take-away. We had a go at completing some subtraction problems by counting backwards.
In the class handouts folder I have uploaded some subtraction problems. Can you solve them? Remember you can use your fingers, a number line or objects to help you count backwards.
Computing – Over the spring term, we have been learning about algorithms and how to program toys such as Beebots. Have a go at this game, there are lots of fun challenges to complete:
Don’t forget, spend some time being active too - make the most of this lovely weather!
Have a fantastic day!
