Happy Wednesday Year One!
I hope you are all well and enjoyed completing yesterday’s activities. You are all working so hard and I really enjoy looking through your work on Purple Mash. Don’t forget once you have completed an activity to click ‘hand in’ so that I can see it!
Activities for the day! – Phonics – Tricky Words Today I would like you to continue working on Tricky Words. Remember these are words that we can’t sounds out but appear lots in our reading books. All the resources you need are on the class handouts page, in the Phonics folder. Have a go at:
- Practising sounds (using sound mats)
- Practise reading tricky words (using tricky words flashcards)
- Complete a page from the tricky word booklets
English – Talk for Writing Yesterday you read the story ‘Sidney Spider’ and looked at what you liked, what you want to know, and what surprised you in the story. Today, I would like you to complete page 7 and 8 in the same booklet. This can be found on the class handouts page in the English folder. Your task is to work out which speech bubble belongs to which character and to complete a short quiz about the story. It would probably be a good idea to start by reading the story again first!
Maths – Start by practising counting by 2s. Then on the class handouts page, I have uploaded a couple of activities for you to complete into the Maths folder. Don’t forget if you find this tricky, use objects around the house to help you count.
PSHE - What makes a good friend? On Purple Mash, I have set you a 2do. Your task is to write a list of the things that make a good friend. Think carefully about how we treat our friends at school.
I hope you all have a great day!
