Monday 30th March 2020
Hello to all of you! I hope that you have had a lovely weekend, and that you are ready to start week two of home learning. I can’t wait to see more of your fabulous work throughout the week!
If you haven’t already done so, try logging onto the different online resources that you have access to (Purple Mash, Phonics Play, TT Rock Stars, Numbots, Oxford Owl and Yumu). These websites are GREAT for home learning!
Activities for today!
English – start by watching and joining in with this Super Movers video about adjectives and adverbs. This will help you with your story writing! https://www.bbc.co.uk/teach/supermovers/ks1-english-adjectives-adverbs-with-johnny-inel/znfjbdm
- today we are carrying on with our adventure story planning from last week. So far, you have designed your main character and chosen the story setting. Today, I would like you to create a plan for your story. This is set as a 2Do on Purple Mash. You can plan four different parts to your story. Here is my example:
1 – the main character is at home
2 – something happens
3 – they arrive in space/underwater/in a rainforest/in a castle etc.
4 – they manage to get back home
Complete your story plan on Purple Mash and hand it in so that I can see it!
Maths – start by spending some time on TT Rock Stars and Numbots.
- think of some 2-digit numbers (you could roll a dice twice, turn over two playing cards or ask someone at home to give you some numbers). See how many different ways you can represent these numbers. On the class handouts page, I have uploaded an example of some of the different ways that the number 36 can be represented. Can you think of any other ways?
Music – logon to Yumu (login details are in your reading diary, or were sent in a Marvellous Me message). Have a go at learning a song!
I have also uploaded various activities that you can complete on the class handouts page.
Have a wonderful day!
