I’m sure that like me you will have many questions following last night’s announcements by the Prime Minister. We have lots of questions that need clarification too.
At the moment, for us in school, there is no change to the guidance. We will continue to provide care for those parents whose work is critical to the Covid-19 response, and only those who cannot be safely cared for at home. The message is still that is safer to stay at home.
As yet we have not received any information about this new plan to start to phase some year groups back into school. We expect that we will receive some information from the DfE shortly, hopefully with some clarification.
We will need clear guidance to plan how it is possible to socially distance in a school setting and to keep all of our pupils, staff and families safe, and how we might start to phase groups of children returning and what this looks like. Please be reassured that we will not reopen until we are completely prepared.
As always we will keep you informed but for now please try not to worry. We will continue to provide activities for learning at home and to communicate with you as we have done since the start.
If you have not yet provided us with your email address, please do so URGENTLY by emailing with your child’s name and class to firstname.lastname@example.org
Once any plans are made, this is how we will share them with you.
We all need to support each other in these difficult and uncertain times. In the meantime, continue to stay home and stay safe. Thank you for your support and your cooperation.
