Year One - Home Learning Begins!

Good morning Year 1 and families!

I hope you are all keeping well and you have had a lovely weekend.

Today is your first day of learning from home. It is a very different Monday morning than what we are used to, but I’m sure you will still enjoy learning just like you do at school.

Please use the Year One Activities and Website Links document on the class handouts page to help you plan out your first day. If you haven’t already, I have uploaded a Suggested Home Learning Timetable. There is also an additional blank timetable for you to use to plan out your own day if you wish.

Activities for today!

Phonics – Take a look at some of the phonics links on the Year One Activities and Website Links document. Remember your reading diaries also have all the phonics sounds inside.

English – I have set a 2Do on Purple Mash for you to complete. We have been reading ‘The Pirates of Scurvy Sands’ by Jonny Duddle. Your task is to choose a pirate picture and write some sentences using adjectives to describe them.

Maths – I have set you a 2Do on Purple Mash for you to complete. Also you can use this time to practise your number formation.

Art – We recently focused on a book called ‘Window’. The story followed a family and how the view from their window changed over time. I have set you a 2Do on Purple Mash. Your task is to draw/paint the view from your window!

*Please click ‘hand in’ once you have completed any 2Do on Purple Mash so that I can see your lovely work!*

Don’t forget to also make time for some fresh air and exercise. The sun is shining this morning so please make sure you spend some time in your gardens if you can. For a break or some exercise, take a look at Go Noodle for some fun exercise videos.

I hope that you all have a great day and enjoy completing the activities I have set.
