Year Two – Learn something new today!

Tuesday 24th March 2020

Good morning Year Two! I hope that you enjoyed completing your activities yesterday, and thank you for handing in your work on Purple Mash. It was great to read your letters and to see the pictures that you made.

I am learning something new this week – teaching online. Today, I would like you to learn something new. It could be anything! You might learn to tie shoelaces, learn to sing a new song, learn a new dance, learn to make a paper aeroplane, learn a new game, learn the 3 times table, learn to make a sandwich, learn to make a cardboard castle…ANYTHING YOU LIKE! I have set a 2Do on Purple Mash, where you can tell me all about what you have learnt today. Draw a picture to go with it, and don’t forget to hand-in your work!

Activities for today!

English - take a look at the spelling and grammar links on the Y2 activities and website links document.

- complete the 2Do on Purple Mash. Write and draw about something that you have learnt today.

- take a look at the reading books on Oxford Owl (see Y2 activities and website links document).

Maths – logon to Numbots using your TT Rock Stars username and password.

- improve your speed and accuracy on TT Rock Stars.

- look at the objects inside your house/garden. Can you find any 3D shapes? Perhaps something that is a sphere, a cylinder, a cube or a cuboid? You could draw a picture of these objects!

Geography – recently, we have been creating an interactive book about the local area. I have set you a 2Do on Purple Mash, where you need to create a leaflet about the local area. Write about the local landmarks, such as: the school, the park, the shops and the library.

Have a fantastic day, Year Two!
