Good morning to you all! I hope that you are all well, and that you have had a wonderful weekend.
Although you are not coming into school today, there are lots of things for you to do at home to continue your learning! If you have not already done so, please take a look at the Y2 suggested home learning timetable on the class handouts page. You can use this to help structure your day, or you can make your own version. Also, look at the Y2 activities and website links document, which has links to online resources that you can access at home. I will continue to add to this list over the upcoming weeks.
Activities for today!
English – take a look at the spelling and grammar links on the Y2 activities and website links document.
- I have set a 2Do on Purple Mash. Your task is to write a letter to Tuffy, whom is a character from the book The Diary of a Killer Cat. Use Long Knowle Primary School as your address. What would you say to Tuffy? What advice would you give to Tuffy? Please click ‘hand-in’ when you have completed this activity, so that I can see your work. I can’t wait to read your letters to Tuffy!
Maths – find some coins, or draw some. Can you name the different coins? You could even draw around the coins on a piece of paper. Try to make the same amount using different combinations of coins, e.g. 25p could be 20p + 5p, or 10p + 10p + 5p.
- improve your speed and accuracy on Times Table Rock Stars!
- have a look on Purple Mash. I have set a Maths game as a 2Do, where you need to make different number bonds.
Art/Computing – I have set a 2Do on Purple Mash where you can paint a picture of anything you like! Explore using the different painting tools. Don’t forget to hand-in your work…I’m looking forward to seeing what you have created!
Remember to make time for playing, colouring, drawing, building, making, singing, dancing, skipping…whatever you enjoy! For a break and a bit of exercise, you could look at the BBC KS1 Super Movers videos.
I hope that you have a fantastic day, and that you enjoy completing these activities!
