The Aims of the school reflect our determination to provide the children of Long Knowle Primary School with a positive start to the lifelong learning process that will see them develop into responsible members of their community.

Long Knowle Net Ball Team

Long Knowle’s amazing mixed netball team took part in the Black Country Games Partnership netball tournament at Aldersley Stadium.

The mixed Long Knowle team had won the Wolverhampton mixed netball league which meant qualification for this competition. The top two Wolverhampton teams took part in the competition. The other competing teams were from schools across the four areas of the Black Country: Walsall, Sandwell and Dudley.

The competition was split into two leagues: A and B. The games were all 8 minutes long, split into two halves. After a wobbly start, where we lost 1:0, the team went on to win the remaining games. This meant we were second overall in our side of the league!

The team eagerly waited for confirmation that they were through to the semi-finals. In the end, the team played the winners of the other league and lost. This meant that we played the losers of the other semi-final and were playing for third place!

The team were up against the same team they lost their first match to and were determined not to lose again! They didn’t! They went on to win the game 4:1 and celebrated with a bronze medal! All the team played fantastically well, and everyone played their best in every position.

It is an amazing achievement for Long Knowle Primary School to achieve third place out of all schools in The Black Country!
