The aim of our school is for every member of the community to feel valued and respected, and that each person is treated fairly and well. We are a caring school and our values are built on mutual trust and respect for all. The school’s behaviour policy is designed to support the way in which all members of the school can live and work together in a supportive way. It aims to promote an environment where everyone feels happy, safe and secure.

The purpose of the behaviour policy at Long Knowle is to have an agreed set of expectations that promotes 1) good behaviour 2) self-discipline including self-regulation, 3) prevents bullying and 4) ensures that children can complete their work without disruption.

Supporting these behaviours will enable:

  • Our school to be a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment where everyone is expected to be courteous, tolerant and considerate.

  • Our pupils to be successful learners who enjoy learning, make progress, and achieve their very best.

  • Our pupils to become confident individuals who can lead safe, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

  • Our pupils to develop skills to become responsible citizens, who make a positive contribution to 21st century society, thriving in and shaping the future.

  • Our curriculum to provide enjoyable and creative opportunities for learning and teaching, using a wide range of resources and technology to enable all pupils to achieve their full potential academically, physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually.

  • Our school to work in partnership with parents and the wider community to support and encourage pupils in all aspects of their learning and in their development as independent, curious and resilient individuals.

Our Golden Rules

  • I will always follow instructions from  adults in school.

  • I will keep my hands, feet and    unkind words to myself.

  • I will always try my best.
