Friends Of Long Knowle

We thought we would give you a little insight into who we are, what we do and how you can help.

Who are FOLK?

We are the Friends of Long Knowle and we are a newly formed group of parents, carers and staff members. We meet at least half termly to talk about and plan future events. You may have heard about PTA’s at other schools which are Parent and Teacher Associations. We run slightly differently as we can have extended members of the family (e.g Grandparents) and the community (Rotary, local shops) on board our team.  

 

What do we do?

Our aim is to raise vital funds to support the children in our school. We hope to provide different events to give our children lots of different experiences throughout their school life. We aim to involve as many people as possible so that everyone can feel as though they are making a difference.

 

How can you help?

There are many reasons why you should join FOLK. From making new friends and getting to know the school environment, through to helping to raise much needed funds and making a difference to the children and school community. All of these things help you grow in confidence as a parent/carer and it feels good to know you are making a difference for your children and for generations to come.

We can’t run larger events without your support. If you are able to spare any time for any events we would be really grateful. We will ask for volunteers so whether it's folding raffle tickets, setting up tables or tidying away after an event we would be really grateful for lots of spare pairs of hands.
