School Uniform

We request and appreciate the support of parents and carers when sending children to school in the correct uniform. The children will develop a sense of pride and belonging to Long Knowle Primary School. School uniform is mandatory at Long Knowle Primary School.

School uniform will be worn all year round. We are happy for children to wear our Summer option of uniform. Please see the items of uniform below. 

​

Branded items are not necessary apart form for the school jumper. We do request that children wear a school jumper with the school's logo on. 

​

We have a nearly new school uniform shop in school. Should you need any more uniform, please come into school and speak to a member of staff and we will be able to help. Also, if you have any unwanted uniform, please donate this to our uniform shop in school. Thank you!

School Uniform 

 

• Green sweatshirt or cardigan with logo 

• Grey school-style trousers or grey skirt or grey shorts (summer) 

• Plain white or logo green polo shirt 

• Green checked dress (summer) 

• Black, white or grey socks/tights, black shoes. 

• Dark green or black hair ribbon/bobble/hair band. Large ‘Jo-Jo bows’ are not suitable for school. 

 

• Shoes should be plain black, with flat heels. 

• Boots, trainers and open-toed/slingback shoes are not suitable to be worn in school.

• Shirts are worn tucked into trousers or skirts. 

 

P.E. Kit

 

School PE kit consists of: 

• Black or navy blue shorts, plain white teeshirt (without logo, not a football shirt), black pumps. 

• These items should be named and kept in school in a named nylon PE bag. They should be taken home each half term for washing. 

• In colder weather children may bring in a plain black or navy track suit. Trainers can be brought in for outdoor PE lessons. 

• Long hair must be tied up for PE – please provide a bobble. 

 

Jewellery 

 

• Children may wear one pair of small, plain, gold stud earrings. Other styles and colours are not acceptable. They will be expected to remove earrings for PE. 

• If younger children are unable to remove their own earrings, please ensure that they are taken out at home on PE days. If earrings cannot be removed, please supply plasters to cover them for PE. 

• Tattoos/transfers/make-up/nail polish/false nails are not appropriate at school – please save these for the holidays and ensure that they are removed for school days.
